Delegate

Democracy
A system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.
Sovereign
Possessing supreme or ultimate power.
Tyranny
Cruel and oppressive government or rule.
Compromise
The act or practice of each side giving up something in order to reach an agreement (negotiation, agreement, arrangement).
Oligarchy
A small group of people who exercise control over a country, business, etc. (clique, mob, clan).
Constituent
A citizen who is represented in a government by officials for whom he or she votes.
Bipartisan
Relating to or involving members of two political parties (neutral, independent, nonaligned).
Legislature
The legislative body of a country or state. These are the people who make, amend, or repeal laws.
Senate
This makes up the upper house of the United States Congress. Each state has two representatives that serve in this house of Congress.
Congress
This is made up of the Senate and the House of Representatives. It is also known as the legislative branch.
House of Representatives
A part of the legislative branch. It is the lower house in congress and it helps pass laws. It has 435 members elected by each state. The number of people representing each state is dependent on the population.
Ratify
To sign or give formal consent. (a treaty, contract, or agreement), making it officially valid.
Appointment
The act of putting a person into a non-elective position.
Jurisdiction
It means having a legal right over something.
Appeal
To take a court case to a higher court for review.
Precedent
An example that is used to justify similar occurrences at a later time.
Impeach
To charge someone with doing something wrong, specifically a high government official, such as the U.S president.
Legislators
A person who makes laws; a member of a legislative body.
Appoint
To assign a job or role to someone.
Unconstitutional
Not consistent with or according to a constitution; contrary to the U.S. Constitution.
Veto
The power or right to prohibit or reject a proposed or intended act (especially the power of a chief executive to reject a bill passed by the legislature).
Demographics
This is statistical data relating to the population and particular groups within it.
Amend
To make minor changes in (a text) in order to make it fairer, more accurate, or more up-to-date.
Disenfranchise
Deprive someone of the right to vote.
