Friction
A force that resists motion when two surfaces are in contact.
Balanced Force
A force that is equal in size and opposite in direction, resulting in no change in motion.
Weight
The force of gravity pulling an object toward the center of the Earth.
Contact Force
A force that occurs when two objects are in physical contact.
Unbalanced Force
When forces are not equal and opposite, causing a change in motion.
Force Diagram
A diagram that uses arrows to show the size and direction of forces acting on an object.
Wind
Will push the rock from one side which is balanced by friction.
Force Diagram Arrows
The arrows show the size and direction of each force.
Large Vehicle Push
When the vehicle pushes on the rock, the pushing force will be larger than friction.
Ground
The force that pushes up on the rock.
