Levels

Ways performers enter and leave the stage (doors, gaps, staircases), helping to control pace and focus.
Stage Space
How much of the stage is filled or left empty; can make scenes feel crowded, intimate, or isolated.
Practical Set
Set pieces that can be used by actors (e.g. doors that open, chairs that move).
Fixed Set
Scenery that remains in place throughout the performance.
Transformable Set
A set that changes during the performance to represent different locations or moments.
Naturalistic Set
A realistic design that looks like a real location (e.g. a detailed living room).
Minimalist Set
A simple set using only essential items to focus attention on performers.
Abstract Set
A non literal set, not realistic / naturalistic
Symbolic Set
A set that uses objects or shapes to represent deeper meanings or themes.
