  • the present perfect is formed by combining a helping verb “have” or “has” with a past participle

    • ex) I have played tennis

    • ex) She has sung at weddings

    • ex) We have flown in a plane

  • In English, we combine have/has with past participle

  • In spanish, er combine present tense of a verb with a past participle

    • ex) Yo he bailado (I have danced)

    • ex) Nosotros no hemos estudiado para el examen (We haven’t studied for the exam)

  • -AR → -ado

  • -ER/-IR → -ido

  • ir itself does not have an irregular form it would just be ido as a past participle
