Appearance of Black

Application Bar

A canvas within an Illustrator file.

A point in a gradient in which one color transitions to another color within the gradient.

A file template with settings.The template can be used to create multiple documents with the same initial settings.

A mode that allows the user to control how drawing occurs in relation to another object.

Embedding

The act of placing a file in such a way that the file does not update if its original is updated.

Eyedropper Tool

File Handling

A preference in which one can control how often the recovery aspect of files is saved.

Full-Screen Mode

A mode in which documents display without the toolbar or menus.

Global Color

A swatch that, when updated, updates every instance of the swatch in a document.

Workspace

The configuration of toolbars and panels on the Illustrator screen.. A custom configuration can be saved as a custom workspace.
