Why is traceability important?
It allows unsafe and unsuitable food to be traced and quickly recalled.
What information is needed for detailed traceability?
Supplier details, brand, batch ID, BEST BEFORE and USE BY date.
What is the simpler traceability option?
Record supplier details, food type, quantity, sometimes temperature if relevant, then recall potentially affected food.
What Lebel should recalled food be given?

What are the two levels of recall?
Consumer level recall and trade level recall.
What is a consumer level recall?
Removing food from the supply chain and notifying customers.
What is a trade level recall?
Removing food from the supply chain but do not have to notify customers.
What must businesses do every 12 months regarding recalls?
Conduct a simulated/mock recall, unless a real effective recall has occurred in the last 12 months.
