• Visual: Before descending below TPA

• Instrument: ½ dot below glideslope intercept (or at FAF, if no vertical guidance)

Actions - Pilot Flying:

• Complete the Gear Down Before Landing checklist, calling out each step.

• After the first step (GEAR… 3 GREEN), leave your hand on the selector until the PNF also announces “Three green.” Then, proceed with the remaining steps.

Actions - Pilot Not Flying:

• Monitor the PF’s performance of the checklist. (Reference the checklist placard.)

• After the PF announces “Gear - three green,” verify that the landing gear is deployed, and then state “Three green.”

“Blueline—GUMP. Gas, Undercarriage, Mixtures, Props.”

Where:

• Visual: On base or turning final

• Instrument: 1,000 feet AGL

Actions - Pilot Flying:

• Call out “Blueline—GUMP.”

• Verify the aircraft is on speed (VYSE).

• Check the items, calling out each one in turn (“Gas, Undercarriage, Mixtures, Props”).

Actions - Pilot Not Flying:

• Silently back up the PF.

“Gear Down—Stabilized”

Where:

• All approaches: 400 feet AGL

Actions - Pilot Flying:

• Confirm that the landing gear is down and that all stabilized approach criteria are met.

• Announce “Gear down—stabilized.”

Actions - Pilot Not Flying:

• After the PF’s callout, confirm that the gear is down and the approach is stabilized.

• Announce “Gear down—stabilized.”

Notes: • If either pilot notes that the gear is not down, or the approach is not stabilized, go around.

"Approaching Minimums" / "Minimums"

• During instrument approaches, to enhance altitude awareness, the PF will also call out "Approaching Minimums" when 100 feet above MDA or DA, followed by "Minimums" at MDA or DA.
