Noun
A noun is the name of a person, place, thing, or idea.
Examples: teacher, London, computer, courage
Adjective
An adjective describes a noun or a pronoun, telling what kind, how many, or which one.
Examples: Salty, 7, This
Verb
A verb expresses action or a state of being.
Examples: Run, Think, Is, Exist
Pronoun
A pronoun is used in place of a noun in a sentence.
Examples: He, She, It, They
Article
The words a, an, and the are special adjectives called articles, used before a noun.
Examples: A dog, An elephant, The sky
Adverb
An adverb describes a verb, adjective, or another adverb, telling how, when, where, or to what degree.
Examples: Softly, Now, Everywhere, Very
Preposition
A preposition combines with a noun or pronoun to form a phrase that tells something about another word in a sentence.
Examples: By, To, Up, During
Conjunction
A conjunction joins together single words or groups of words in a sentence.
Examples: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so
Interjection
An interjection expresses strong feeling or emotion, often punctuated with an exclamation.
Examples: Wow!, Oops!, Phew!, Alas!
Proper noun
A proper noun is a specific name used for an individual person, place, or organization and is always capitalized. Examples include "Alice," "Paris," and "Microsoft."
