What does forgetting depend on?
Forgetting depends on time.

It is not typically all or nothing.
What is an engram?
The most basic unit of a memory.
What is the tip of the tongue phenomenon?
You know something about it, but you don't remember the exact answer.
If someone can't provide the correct answer, what are the possible interpretations?
They don't have it or it's gone, assuming it was once there.
What are the different ways you could answer if asked if you've seen a painting before?
You've never seen anything like it before, you've seen it but don't remember where, you've seen it but don't remember who did it, you saw it in art class, or you've seen the actual painting.
What does the remember/know procedure consist of?
Asking if you remember more of it or if you just know it.
What does episodic memory refer to?
Mental time travel, tied to a specific time or place.
What happens with older and older things regarding remembering?
Older things are much more likely to be 'knows'.
What is a flashbulb memory?
A specific type of episodic memory where you remember a lot of details about an event, as if you took a snapshot.
Are flashbulb memories accurate?
Even though people are really confident in how accurate they are, they're just as likely to be inaccurate as all of our other memories.
What is the difference between explicit and implicit memory?
Explicit memory is things that we are intentionally doing, while implicit memory are things that we do without awareness.
What are examples of procedural memory?
Motor skills like tying shoes or riding a bicycle.
What are the two most commonly used types of explicit test questions?
Recognition and Recall.
What is a recall question?
Open ended questions.
What is a recognition question?
Multiple choice or true or false.
