What is the primary purpose of the magneto check before takeoff?
To ensure that both magnetos are operating properly
During the magneto check you observe that selecting the right magneto results in an unusually large reduction in RPM and the engine running rough. What are the likely causes of this problem? What, if any, corrective action should be attempted?
One of the spark plugs has failed, burn off carbon build-up by increasing RPM, leaning mixture, and resetting
