Beowulf

Personification
An animal or object described with human characteristics.

Metaphor

Irony
A situation where what really shouldn’t happen, happens.
Alliteration
The occurrence of the same letter or sound at the beginning of adjacent or closely connected words.
Protagonist
The main character or hero in the story.
Antagonist
The villain or opposing force in the story.

A struggle between characters.

A conflict between a character and natural forces.

A struggle within a character's own mind.

People who lived in Great Britain and spoke Old English.
