Analysis of movement framework
Systemic methods, used as a learning tool, idealises muscular contribution, strategy for treatment planning, used to assess change
Joint
All joints involved in movement must be recorded, including joints with stabilising role
ROM
Related to joint, need to record whole ROM,
Gravity
Against, with or eliminated
Type of contraction
Concentric, eccentric or isometric
Role of muscle
Agonist, antagonist, synergist, stabiliser
Effect of dominance
Can gauge performance by observing the use of non-dominant limb, non-dominance can lead to alterations in kinetic chain - affects seamless flow of movements and moulding of different phases
Individual factors affecting performance
Tightness, weakness, postural, pain, swelling, spasm
Complex movement phases
Split entire movement into sub movements
Using framework
Used to determine possible impairments which can allow physio to prescribe interventions to treatment impairments - muscle strengthening, increasing rom, pain relief
