hydrolysis of the thioester bond of succinyl-CoA and the fomration of succinate and GTP via succinyl-CoA synthetase

step 6

oxidation of succinate to fumarate and the release of FADH2 via succinate dehydrogenase

step 7

trans-hydration of the fumarate double bon to form L-malate via fumarase

step 8

oxidation of L-malate to oxaloacetate which completes the TCA cycle via malate dehydrogenase
