New Deal

Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)

Taylors Grazing Act (1934)
Law aimed to prevent overgrazing and soil deterioration on public grazing lands.
Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
Agency formed by merging the General Land Office and Grazing Service to regulate public land use.
Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA)
A semi-autonomous regional agency formed to modernize the Tennessee Valley and improve its economic conditions through dam projects and habitat improvement.
Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act (1934)
Law requiring wildlife conservation to be considered in federal water resource development projects.
Soil Conservation Service (SCS)
An agency created by FDR in 1935 to promote soil conservation practices and reduce soil erosion.
