Endothelial cells
Cells that line the blood vessels and are crucial for vascular function, including blood flow regulation and clotting processes.
Extramedullary haemopoiesis
The production of blood cells outside the bone marrow, commonly occurring in the liver during fetal development and under certain disease conditions.
Thrombosis
The formation of a blood clot in a blood vessel, which can obstruct blood flow.
Hepatocytes
Liver cells that play a key role in metabolic processes, including the breakdown and recycling of hemoglobin.
Kupffer cells
Macrophages located in the liver that are involved in the immune response and breakdown of old red blood cells.
Spleen
An organ that filters blood, removes old and damaged red blood cells, and is involved in immune response.
Lymphadenopathy
Enlargement of lymph nodes that often indicates an underlying pathological condition, commonly due to infection or malignancy.
Thymus
An organ located in the chest that is crucial for the maturation of T lymphocytes, important for the adaptive immune response.
Coagulation factors
Proteins produced mainly by the liver that are essential for blood clotting.
Lymphatic system
A network of vessels that transport lymph fluid, filters foreign substances, and plays a role in immune response.
