What is an accelerated junctional rhythm?

when the junctional rhythm is between 60-100 BPM

2
New cards

Why is it considered accelerated?

because 60-100 BPM is the ventricular rate, so coming from the AV junction area would mean that it is fast because the normal AV node fires an impulse at 40-60 BPM

3
New cards

Is the rhythm normal?

yes

4
New cards

since the rhythm is normal, what would the accelerated junctional QRS complex resemble?

normal sinus rhythm QRS complex

5
New cards

How will the P wave look?

it will be shown as P’ (inverted)

6
New cards

How do the R-R intervals look?

regular

7
New cards

How does the PRI look?

short, and visible only when P’ comes before the QRS complex

8
New cards

How does the QRS complex look?

regular
