Part 1
Since our piece is so focused on memory and nostalgia, its impossible not to create something where each character isn't intrinsically linked to one another and where our own friendships with each other in real life don't seep into the actual performance.
Part 2
We began at first by freestyling certain movements that reflected our anchor Shadows of Past (on screen), others responded by trying to copy them, or be their shadow, moving through different levels or the different states of tension. We all work as an ensemble, not as stand out cast members, and feed off of each other's energy in order to create scenes that represent the different stages of someone's life.
Part 3
Some of us may start without a partner, on different levels, or off stage as people can come in & out of our life, but eventually we all find our way back to interacting with the whole ensemble. Nearly all scenes are focused on people split into duos or trios feeding off one another and responding back with the exact same actions or the complete opposite, yet we all come together in the end.
Part 4
Despite there being minimal dialogue said between all of us, our memories are documented through the different decades with our actions & physical contact with one another.
