What is motion?
Change in an object's position over time.
How is an object's motion measured?
Based on its change in position relative to a reference point.
What is speed?
Measure of the distance an object travels in a certain amount of time.
What is the formula for calculating speed?
Speed = Distance/Time.
What is the average speed of a car that travels 150 meters in 15 seconds?
10 m/s.
What is velocity?
Speed with direction.
What is acceleration?
The rate at which velocity changes over time.
What are the units for acceleration?
m/s².
What does positive acceleration indicate?
The object is speeding up.
What does negative acceleration indicate?
The object is slowing down.
What is Newton's First Law of Motion?
An object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in motion unless acted on by an unbalanced force.
What is inertia?
The tendency of objects to resist any change in motion.
What is Newton's Second Law of Motion?
Acceleration of an object depends on the mass of the object and the amount of force applied.
What is the equation for Newton's Second Law?
F = ma (Force = mass × acceleration).
What is Newton's Third Law of Motion?
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
What happens when two objects with different masses collide?
The object with less mass will accelerate more.
What is the formula to calculate acceleration?
a = F/m (acceleration = force/mass).
What is a reference point?
A stationary object used to measure the position of another object.
What is displacement?
The change in position of an object.
What is net force?
The overall force acting on an object when all the individual forces are combined.
What is the difference between balanced and unbalanced forces?
Balanced forces do not cause a change in motion, while unbalanced forces do.
How do you calculate net force?
By adding or subtracting all the individual forces acting on an object.
What are the two factors that affect acceleration?
The mass of the object and the amount of force applied.
