the port act —> 1774 boston ports = closed until fixed/paid off

The Administration of Justice Act —> 1774 made it so any royal official accused in the colonies would be tried in Britain rather than the colonies (to make it more in more in British favor)

Quebec Act —> 1774 extended boundaries of Quebec and granted religious freedom to Catholics, which angered many Protestants in the colonies.

deism —> actions not cos god did or gods path but rather science and fact

rationalism —> turned away from religion towards science

social contract —> agreement between individuals to live peacefully and create government to promot these ideas

Lexington and Concord

1775 first battle in the American Revolution which was when the British troop were on their way to ruin colonial supplies but where stopped because Paul Revere was able to tell everyone that the British were coming. The British were stopped and attacked and ended up winning so they continued to proceed and destroy military supplies. On the way back, they got jumped by the colonists and “lost”

1775 was colonists who were willing to fight under the commander-in-chief George Washington. They were able to create a navy to fight British ships and recruited African Americans with the promise of freedom because they were scared of the British recruiting them
