Selection
Response to selection is dependent on strength of selection which is dependent on difference in fitness values
Allele Frequencies
To calucate the allele frequencies of next generation we can use:
(weighted fitness of XX carrying individual)/ (fitness of each genotype x genotype frequency)
change = ((weighted fitness of XX carrying individual)/ (fitness of each genotype x genotype frequency) ) - Xt
Allele S
Allele S is an allele that is deletrious in the fact that is cause sickle cell amonia, which effects hemologbion cells when it comes to carrying oxygen throughout the body
How S allele still remains in high frequency in areas of were cases of malaria is high as the S allele offers resteiant to malaria
PEquilibrium
Equilibrium frequency due to balancing selectioning ( maintaing all allele frequencys present in population )
PEquilibrium = t/(s+ t)
Eviromental Heterogeneity
Varation in enviromental conditions
