[jo makes marks in the snow]

[amy is trhing to be nice but jo won’t look at her]

“Good morning ladies! It’s brisk and brilliant and I think the last day for the river - get your ice skates!“[jo gets up ignoring Amy and runs off with laurie]

“Is she going to be like this forever?“

“Go after her. Don't say anything till Jo has got good-natured with Laurie, then take a quiet minute and just kiss her, or do some kind thing, and I'm sure she'll be friends again”

[amy nods and grabs her skates] “wait for me! Please!” [jo pretends not to hear and any behind waving and yelling] “hello! Wait for me!]

“Stay near the edge jts not safe in the middle”

[amy does not hear and continues struggling with her skates]

“Ready?”

[amy struggles on the ice and stumbles off stage]

[jo and Laurie laugh until they hear a crack]

[many screams off stage] “HELP! HELP!”

“Please grab on amy!”

[laurje and Amy walk back on stage and Jo gives her coat to amy]
