Provides fascial attachment for the latissimus dorsi muscle; covers the deep muscles of the back, attaching to both spinous and transverse processes and splitting to surround the erector spinae and quadratus lumborum muscles; upper portion of gluteus maximus attaches to it as well

Attached to the inferior surface of the clavicle and splits to surround the subclavius and pectoralis minor muscles

Surrounds the axillary artery, vein, and the cords of the brachial plexus; continuous with the prevertebral fascia of the neck
