delegated legislation
Laws made by authorities other than parliament, who are delegated the power to do this by an act of parliament

gives the right to create one of the following types of delegated legislation
-orders in the council
-statutory instruments
-by laws

-made by privy council or monarch
-make laws without going through parliament
-used in emergencies
Statutory Instruments
rules and regulations made by government ministers
By-laws
local laws or regulations made by local councils that apply to residents in local areas
