Jeroboam
The first king of the Northern Kingdom; known for introducing golden calves.
Elijah and Elisha
Prophets in the Northern Kingdom, known for their significant roles in Israel's history.
Assyria
The empire that destroyed the Northern Kingdom of Israel in 722 BCE.
Rehoboam
King of Judah; his decisions led to the division of the kingdom.
Hezekiah
A good king of Judah known for his religious reforms.
Josiah
A king of Judah who implemented significant religious reforms and found the Book of the Law.
Babylonian Exile
A major turning point for Judah; occurred after the fall of Jerusalem in 587 BCE.
Scribes
Individuals who preserved texts and maintained Jewish identity during the Exile.
Prophet
A person who speaks on behalf of God.

A belief that God rewards good and punishes evil.

A theological perspective emphasizing the importance of Jerusalem as God's chosen city.
Cyrus Cylinder
