Absolute extremea
The SINGLE most highest/lowest point on the whole graph
Relative extreme: like the hills & curves
relative extreme occur at the critical numbers (when f’ is 0 or undefined)
Extreme value theorem
If f is continues on a closed interval, then there is a min and max on said interval
Rolles Theorem
if (a & b are different, but have f(a) = f(b), and the function is continuous and differentiable on the open internal, f’© = 0
Mean value theorem
If f is continuous and differentiable on interval (a,b), c exists so f’c = average rate of change (slope)
