What can nicotine poisoning look like in children?

Symptoms of nicotine poisoning in children can include nausea, vomiting, increased heart rate, agitation, seizures, and in severe cases, respiratory failure. It can occur from exposure to nicotine-containing products such as cigarettes, e-cigarettes, or nicotine gum.

The presentation in newborns with CNS HSV disease (ie, encephalitis) typically occurs in weeks 2-3 of life with 

seizure and temporal lobe hemorrhage

Todd paralysis is a 

transient, focal weakness or paralysis (eg, hemiplegia) that occurs in the postictal period after a focal-onset (± secondary generalization) seizure

Febrile seizures are treated with

supportive care and no extra evaluation is needed

Cerebrospinal fluid analysis of TB meningitis shows

lymphocytic pleocytosis, high protein, and low glucose

If a patient has seizures with hypotonia and jaundice and reducing substances are shown, what is causing that?

Likely because of GALT deficiency leading to galactosemia
