In 1429, Joan of Arc went to King Charles VII’s court and convinced him to let her go with the French army to Orléans. The army was inspired by her faith, as she valued her religion, and became confident. Because of her, they liberated the city (this was a turning point in the war).

However, she was captured in 1430, was charged with witchcraft, and was condemned to death as a heretic. She was burned at the stake in 1431
