Child Sexual Abuse (CSA)
Any interaction between a child and an adult or another older child in which the child is used for sexual stimulation of the perpetrator or an observer.
Risk Factors for Sexual Abuse
Includes family structure, with the lowest risk being 2 married biological parents and significantly higher risks associated with step-parents, single parents, and foster care.
Reasons Children Do Not Report Abuse
Fear of not being believed, shame or guilt, fear of family disruption, and fear of threats from the abuser.
