Step 1
Plug turbity sensors into channel 1 of LabQuest. warm up for 5 min.
Step 2
remove glass turbidity cuvettes from box. calibrate sensor.
Step 3
First calibration: check blank cuvette for air bubbles. wipe with kimwipe. on LabQuest: sensors, calibrate, turbidity. calibrate now, place cuvette in sensor, wait for live voltage reading to stabilize. enter 0 for value 1 and press keep. remove cuvette.
Step 4
Second calibration: obtain turbidity standard (100 NTU) and invert 4 times. place in sensor. wait for stabilization, enter 100, press keep. press ok.
Step 5
invert water sample. use pipette Bub and serological pipette. fill empty cuvette with sample water so it is above white line. check for air bubbles. wipe with kimwipe. put in sensor.
Step 6
collect data for 10 seconds. analyze, stats, record average. empty water from cuvettes and rinse with distilled water, dry and return to box.
