Hue
Position of a color on color wheel
Saturation
Similar to intensity, sometimes used to describe a color in terms of it’s relative value of a hue.
Monochromatic
having a single hue or color, usually including tints or shades of that color.
Secondary Color
Colors obtained by mixing primary colors.
Analogous Color
Colors found next to each other on the color wheel. Commonly known insets of two-three.
Tertiary Colors
Colors which result from mixing primary and secondary colors.
Tetradic colors
double compliments. Two sets of direct complimentary colors on the color wheel.
Triadic colors
often used for mixing a chromatic grey, these are a set of three colors on the color wheel spaced equidistantly around the color wheel.
Simultaneous contrast
When a color varies in appearance depending on the color placed next to it.
Complimentary colors
Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Orange, and Purple
Chroma
A relative purity of color as it neutralizes to grey
