Cells that look and act differently based on their job.
Tissues
Groups of specialized cells working together to perform a specific job.
Organs
Groups of tissues working together to perform a specific job.
Organ systems
Groups of organs working together to perform particular jobs.
Cell membrane
Outer covering of a cell that regulates what enters and leaves the cell.
DNA
Hereditary material contained within a cell.
Organelles
Smaller structures within a cell that perform specific functions.
Cytoplasm
Fluid that fills the cell and suspends organelles.

Structures that connect amino acids to build proteins.
Golgi body
Gathers and packages molecules into more complex forms.
Vacuole
Storage bin for food, water, and waste materials.
Smooth endoplasmic reticulum
Involved in the creation of lipids and hormones.
Lysosome
Enzyme used to digest food and remove cell waste.
Chloroplast
Organelles that convert light energy into sugar through photosynthesis (unique to plant cells).
