Infection Control - Standard precautions apply to

1. blood

2. all body fluids, secretions, and excretions except sweat, regardless of whether or not they contain blood

3. broken skin

4. mucous membranes

Employee and Family Assistance Program

• offer confidential short-term counseling services for employees and their families

• covers all personal, relationship, and workplace issues

Workplace Injuries Preventions

Worker's Compensation Board

• a provincial board that is designed to promote health and safety in the workplace for both employers and employees by educating and promoting the prevention of workplace injury, illness, and disease

Student Injury and Exposure musts

must report and file a claim with WorkSafe BC through BCIT

Incident Reports

required for injury or near miss in the clinical environment

Exposure Incidents: OSL

exposure incidents must be reported by filling out the OSL exposure report + CI for students
