How long of a paper do you have to write, a 2-page paper? a one-page, a 5-page?

it limits what you say and how you say it
The purpose of your purpose is to set a tone that relates back to your purpose

What is the limit in terms of occasion?
refers to the situation that leads someone to write the way they do.
This can be writing a speech for a funeral to a speech for graduation.
What is the limit in terms of Knowledge?
determines what you nee, d for research

while not knowing enough limits you from writing to your potential because you lack knowledge in that considerd area

its meant to have your brain reflect on the operation of your subject such as finding similarities and fdifferences in your writing.
What do Probing Questions help do?
They help manipulate your thoughts to get to a specific topic
What is the purpose of freewrite?
to get your ideas down on paper so that you may react to them and shape them
Once you look over and find a new idea that can be your new focus for your writing

Body Paragraphs develop and support the thesis statement
What does the conclusion do in terms of the thesis?
reinforces it and provides closure
What does a good thesis do for writers?
helps plan ,organize and unify ideas
What does a good thesis do for the reader?
identifies the main idea, guides readers through, and clariies the subject+focus
What are the three characerisitics of an effective thesis statement?
1.)clearly expresses your main ideas (indicates what you’ll be saying)
2.) communicates your essay’s purpose (whether it’s to express, inform, or persuade)
Do not communicate something you are not going to emphasize
3.)clearly worded ( should be able to speak for itself) and should be specific enough to indicate the direction you are going with.
