Rotational moulding

A method used to produce heavy-duty, hollow objects with a large wall thickness by rotating a heated mould.

Press forming

A technique to shape sheet metal into 3D forms like car body panels and containers.

Steam bending

A process that combines heat and steam to make wood pliable for shaping.

Kerfing

Cutting grooves into wood to make it easier to bend, traditionally used in making guitar and violin shells.

Punching

A metal forming process that creates holes by using a punch press to shear material.

Deep drawing

A sheet metal forming process where a blank is drawn radially into a forming die by a punch.

Extrusion

A manufacturing process that creates objects of a fixed cross-section by pushing or drawing material through a die.

Compression moulding

The main method to produce products using thermosetting polymers in a heated mould cavity.

MIG welding

A fabrication process used to weld thin gauge metals, often aluminum.

TIG welding

A welding process used for non-ferrous metals like aluminum and copper.

Spinning (in manufacturing)

A process where a disc of metal rotates at high speed to form a symmetrical part without removing material.

Drawing (metalworking)

A process using tensile forces to stretch metal, including sheet metal and wire drawing.
