Tell me about yourself:

My name is Anusheh, and I am currently a student at St. John’s University in the PharmD program. I am actually entering my second year this upcoming fall. I am interested in understanding how different medications impact the body both physically and mentally. I am now interested in working at Walgreens to gain a deeper understanding of its day-to-day operations and strengthen my patient care skills.

So, you are in pharmacy school, right? How is that going?

It is going well! I have just finished my first year. Although it was a bit of an adjustment from high school, I really enjoyed the courses, especially the pharmacy classes where I learn more about the opportunities pharmacy students have and the different career paths available in the field. The workload can be challenging, especially as I become more independent compare to highschool, but I find it very rewarding.

What are your strengths?

I would say my two biggest strengths are being a fast learner and staying organized. I can pick up information relatively quickly, and I like to plan my day to finish the tasks well before the deadline.

4

What is are your weaknesses?

One of my weaknesses is that I can be overly cautious. I like to double-check my work to avoid mistakes, but it can slow me down when I’m learning something new. I also tend to focus too much on small details, which sometimes takes time away from the bigger picture. I'm working on this by asking questions and practicing more so I can feel more confident in my skills.

How would you handle a customer being disruptive or upset at the register?

I would stay calm and respectful. I would try to understand and resolve the issue if I can. If it is something that is beyond my control or the situation escalates, I would get the manager or the person in charge to help.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

detailed-oriented, organized, and respectful

7

Why do you want to be a pharmacy technician?

I want to be a pharmacy technician because it aligns with my career goals of being a pharmacist. Working as a pharmacy technician gives me early hands-on experience and deeper knowledge of the field.

Why do you want to work at this Walgreens?

I have visited this Walgreens with my mom for her vaccinations before, and we always received great service, even when it was busy. That made me want to represent Walgreens and be part of a team that provides that kind of care.

How do you handle high-stress situations?

I stay calm and take tasks one at a time. I prioritize what is most important or urgent while working through the list one by one to avoid getting overwhelmed.

Tell us about your experience in a healthcare setting:

I interned at a clinic during my senior year in high school. I helped manage referrals and schedule follow-up appointments. I also shadowed nurses and observed them administering shots and IVs.

How did you handle conflict at the workplace?

One conflict that I recall from my time working at the clinic is when dealing with an elderly patient who did not speak English. I have an entry-level of understanding Bangla, but it was hard communicating with the patient as he did not take me seriously and wanted a different person to assist him. How I resolved this is by getting a nurse who can communicate with the patient fluently in his language. Afterwards, I learn from the nurses certain hand signs I can do to help indicate what the patient should do if they don’t understand what I am saying. Finally, I did learn some phrases in case I ever enter that type of situation again.

12
New cards

What are your achievements?

I would say my biggest achievement is when I did a research project by myself in high school. I specifically did a project on boldness between two types of crickets. Although the results weren’t exactly significant, it was my first time doing a project from scratch. I was very proud of the effort I put into it and what I learned throughout the process.

13
New cards

I am committed to pharmacy as a career and want to learn and grow in this field. I am reliable, respectful, and eager to gain more experience working directly with patients in a fast-paced environment.

14

What motivates you when performing a routine task?

I remind myself that even routine tasks have a purpose- whether it is helping a patient or supporting the flow of the team. That keeps me motivated and focus since I know that this task will help someone else.

So how will you contribute to our company culture and vision?

I believe I can contribute positively to your company by bringing a respectful attitude and a willingness to learn. I am committed to patient care, supporting my team, and providing a positive and professional experience that reflects Walgreens’ values.

What are your expectations for this job?

I expect to apply what I’m learning in pharmacy school to real-life situations. There’s only so much I can get from books — I really want to learn through hands-on experience, grow my skills, and support both the team and the patients along the way.
