Influenza (Flu)

• Symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, runny/stuffy nose, body aches

• Risks: 65+, chronic health issues, 5 or younger, pregnancy, BMI>40

S. pyogenes (Strep Throat)

• Symptoms: fever, white spots, rash, sore throat, swollen tonsils

• Risk: children, anyone (crowded settings)

HIV (AIDS)

• Symptoms: headache, fever, difficulty breathing, mouth ulcers, oral thrush

• Risk: Unprotected sex, gay men, mother to baby, sharing needles

H. Pylori

• Symptoms: burning/aching, vomiting blood, bloating, dark stool

• Risks:low SES, person to person (not washing hands)

B. Burgdorferi

• Symptoms: bullseye rash, fever, headache, tiredness

• Risks: spending lots of time outdoors (woods, grass)

Neisseria Gonorrhoeae

• Symptoms:

  • Male: discharge, painful urination, swelling of testes

  • Female: discharge, painful urination, pelvic pain, vaginal bleeding

• Risks:many sexual partners (unprotected sex), mother to baby

Salmonella Enterica

• Symptoms:Diarrhea, abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, fever

• Risks: children under 5, adults 65 and older, weakened immune s

Varicella Zoster (chicken pox)

• Symptoms: aching muscles, rash, oral sores, malaise, decreases appetite

• Risks: immunocompromised, pregnant, unvaccinated, newborns
