Diaphragm

contracts downward during inspiration to expand the thoracic cavity; contracts during quiet inspiration and labored inspiration.

External intercostals

Elevates the ribs during inspiration; contacts during quiet inspiration and during labored inspiration.

Internal Intercostals

Depresses the ribs during labored expiration

Pectoralis minor

depresses scapula, protracts and abducts scapula, and inferiorly rotates scapula.

Serratus Anterior

superiorly rotates scapula and abducts scapula

Superior Fibers of Trapezius

extend head, elevates the head, superiorly rotates the scapula

Middle Fibers of Trapezius

Adducts the scapula

Inferior Fibers of Trapezius

Depresses Scapula

Rhomboid major and minor

Elevates, adducts, and inferiorly rotates the scapula

Pectoralis Major

medially rotates the arm, flexes arm, adducts the arm

Lattismus dorsi

extends the arm, adducts the arm, medially rotates the arm.

Anterior Deltoid

Flex the arm, medially rotates the arm

Middle Deltoid

Abducts the arm

Posterior Deltoid

Extends the arm, laterally rotates the arm

Supraspinatous

Abducts the arm

Infraspinatus

Adducts the arm, laterally rotates arm

Teres minor

Extends the arm, laterally rotates

Teres major

extends, adducts, medially rotates arm

Subscapularis

Medially rotates the arm
