Activated in Ft Bragg in June 1952 under COL Aaron Bank and then split in 1953 with one half staying at Ft Bragg and the other going to Germany. Wore the green beret before it was officially authorized by JFK in 1961. 10th SFG relocated from Massachusetts to Ft Carson in 1994 and 1995.
