What are forces?
vectors which have a size and direction
Equation for working out force?
mass x acceleration
how do you work out weight (newtons)?
mass x gravity
explain terminal velocity
you accelerate and so speed increases. Speed increases and so does drag, eventually meaning the resultant force is zero and so no more acceleration can happen, you have then reached the max speed in freefall
explain a parachut
parachute increases surface area, increases drag, creates a resultant force upwards, so person decelerates
Newtons first law
an object remains in the same state of motion unless a resultant force. If all the forces are balanced, the resultant force is zero.
Newtons second law
An object will accelerate (change its velocity) in response to a resultant force
