The chemical process that releases energy from glucose

What are alveoli?
Tiny air sacs where gas exchange happens
How are alveoli adapted?
Large surface area, thin walls, good blood supply, moist
What is diffusion?
Movement of particles from high to low concentration
What gases are exchanged?
Oxygen into blood, carbon dioxide out
What happens during inhalation?
Diaphragm contracts, chest expands, air enters lungs
What happens during exhalation?
Diaphragm relaxes, chest decreases, air leaves lungs
