The theory that describes the large-scale movement of Earth's lithosphere, involving the interactions of tectonic plates.
Mineral Resources
Naturally occurring substances, typically found in the Earth, that can be extracted and used for economic gain.
Carbon Cycle
The biogeochemical cycle in which carbon is exchanged among the biosphere, pedosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere.
Ozone Layer
A region of Earth's stratosphere that absorbs most of the Sun's harmful ultraviolet radiation.
Biodiversity Hotspot
A biogeographic region with a significant level of endemic species that is under threat from humans.
Photosynthesis
The process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize foods with the help of chlorophyll.
Greenhouse Effect

Eutrophication
A process in which water bodies become overly enriched with nutrients, leading to excessive growth of algae and depletion of oxygen.
Biogeochemical Cycles
