• experiencing VERB (ㄴ/은 적 있다 is also commonly used)

• can be used to ask if someone has done/tried smth

V아/어/여 주다

• 그 일 제가 해 줄게요.

• 저는 책을 읽어 주고 있어요.

• doing a sb a favor

• used when making a request/asking a favor (commonly used w -시-)

V아/어/여 가다

• 밤 11시예요. 하루가 끝나 가요.

• 거의 다 해 가요.

• VERB is going/progressing to a certain point

• focuses on continuation in the future

V아/어/여 오다

•  그 사람은 저에게 끊임없이 도전해 왔어요.

• 승완이는 평생 그 약을 먹어 왔어요.

• 이 순간을 기다려 왔어요.

• VERB(action or state) is continued

• focuses on continuation in the present (V started in past and is continuing in present), usage is kinda similar to VS고 있어요

• often used in past tense and adverbs that express time.

V아/어/여 놓다

• 문 닫아 놓을까요?

• 2시까지 준비해 놔요.

• V is done and the result is maintained

• sometimes has the connotation of an action being completed (?)

V아/어/여 두다

• 연습 많이 해 둬.

• 전화번호를 적어 뒀어요.

• V is done and a beneficial or useful result is maintained

• has the meaning of doing V in advance for a future benefit

• cannot be used when inanimate nouns are the subject of the sentence

V아/어/여 버리다

• 네가 프로젝트를 망쳐 버렸어.

• 그냥 해 버려!

• 제가 다 먹어 버렸어요.

• emphasizes that V is completed or smth happened

• expresses that V can’t be undone

• can also be used to express satisfaction OR dissatisfaction w the result of V

V아/어/여 내다

• 그 사람에게 사과를 받아 낼 거예요.

• 소방관이 아이를 구해 냈어요.

• successful completion of V thru a challenging process

• emphasizes willpower, effort, and acheivement

• commonly used w 반드시, 꼭, 마침내, 결국, 드디어

V아/어/여 대다

• 전 남자 친구가 자꾸 전화해 대.

• 승완이는 항상 자랑을 해 대서 얘기하고 싶지 않아.

• emphasizes that V is continuously repeated

• often used in negative contexts
