What does the dermis do?
Supports the epidermis with collagen and elastin fibres

The papillary layer contains areolar tissue

What is the hypodermis?
Layer underneath the integument (skin) that allows the skin to move relative to the underline structures
What type of tissue is the hypodermis?
Loose connective tissue (areolar and adipose tissues)
How does the hypodermis connect to the dermis?
Connective tissue fibres are interwoven with the reticular layer
What is the cutaneous plexus?
The hypodermis houses the cutaneous plexus which are the arteries and veins that will bring the blood supply to the skin
