Energy Resource
A natural resource used to generate energy
Fossil Fuel
a nonrenewable resource formed when organic matter is subjected to heat and pressure over millions of years. Examples include oil, coal and natural gas
Material resource
A natural resource that humans use to make objects or to consume as food or drink
Natural Resource
Materials or substances such as minerals, forests, water and fertile land that occur in NATURE and can be use by humans
Nonrenewable Resources
A resource that forms at a rate that is much slower than the rate at which it is used up and cannot be replenished within a human timescale. Examples include fossil fuels and nuclear fuels.
Renewable Resource
A natural resource that CAN BE replaced at the smae rate that it is used or regenerated naturally over time, such as solar energy, wind, and hydroelectric power.
Stewardship
The careful and responsible management of resources to ensure their sustainability for future generations.
Atmosphere
Layers of air surrounding the Earth.
Biosphere
Contains all the LIFE on Earth.
Geosphere (Lithosphere)
The land, mountains, rocks and soild
Hydrosphere
All the water at or near the surface of the Earth, including oceans, lakes, rivers, and groundwater.
Crust
The outer layer of the Earth
Mantle
The layer of hot, solid material between Earth’s crust and core
Core
The center of the Earth (composed primarily of iron and nickel, it is divided into a liquid outer core and a solid inner core.)
