Navigation Acts: all trade to and from colonies had to be done through England
Bacon’s Rebellion
A virginia uprising of poor farmers, indentured servants, and both freed and enslaved African Americans against Governor Berkeley/the Virgina Government. Nathaniel Bacon wanted government intervention in conflict with NA as well as better representation in House of Burgesses. Resulted in more rights for working class white settlers so that they would feel separate and therefore superior to African Americans.
What was the spiritual movement in this time period?
The First Great Awakening- challenged authority of established churches, so people were encouraged to question authority (fuel for revolutionaries)
