Paraffin
Increase a blood circulation. Hold moisture in the skin, clients over 65 should have Permission from their physician to receive one discard all paraffin that was used on the client

Also know as reusable implements, are generally stainless steel because they must be properly cleaned and disinfected after use on one client and prior to use on another
Metal pusher

nail clippers
Shortens the free edge quickly and efficiently. If the nails need more shortening than the depth of routine filling , cut them with nail clippers. Clip from sides toward the nail’s center to prevent stress to the sides and possible splitting of the nail
Nylon nail brushes
During the manicure to remove filling dust or debris from the nail plate
Low grit ( less than 180 grit)
Are aggressive and will quickly reduce the thickness of any surface. Should not be used on the natural nail
Medium grit ( 180-240 grit)
Are used to smooth and refine surface the 180 frit is used to shorten and shape natural nails
Fine grit ( 240 and higher grit)
They are designed for buffing, polishing and removing very fine scratches
Buffer
Used to buff the nails to a beautiful shine looks like a two -sided nail file
Gauze squares
Gauze also called pledges these are primarily used to remove nail polish
Nail creams
Barrier products because they contain ingredients designed to seal the surface of the skin around the nail and hold in the subdermal moisture in the skin
Nail oils
Designed to absorb into the nail plate to increase flexibility will have a longer lasting moisturizing effect
Cuticle removers
Designed to loosen and dissolve dead tissue from the nail plate for easy removal
Base coat
Also prevents standing of the natural nail plate. Is applied first before polish
Nail hardener
It is used to improve surface hardness or durability of weak or thin nail plates
Oval shaped
Conservative nail shape that is thought to be attractive on most women’s hands
Pointed shaped
The nail is tapered and longer than usual to emphasize and enhance the slender appearance of the hand
Apply polish
With four coats: base coat , two coats or polish color and a top coat for professional result apply polish with he 3 stroke method
Effleurage
This is a succession of strokes made by gliding the hands over an area with varying degrees of pressure
Pétrissage or kneading
Lifting , squeezing and pressing tissue
Tapotement
Rapid tapping or striking motion of the hands on the skin
Friction
Incorporates various strokes that manipulate or press one layer of tissue over another
Theme manicures
These contain products to support the theme. From lotion to oils to masks
Matter less manicures
Instead of soaking the hands in water some nails technicians use lotion and heated mitts to soften the cuticles
