An imitation that makes crude fun of something; an inferior imitation or likeness; a comedy characterized by broad satire and improbable situations.
banish
To expel, as if by official decree; to drive away or shun.
taciturn
Tending to be quiet; not speaking frequently.
vortex
A mass of whirling fluid forming a cavity at the center toward which things are drawn; the shape of something rotating rapidly.
castigate
To inflict severe punishment on; to subject to severe criticism.
pragmatic
Concerned with practical rather than intellectual or artistic matters; guided by experience and observation rather than theory.
escapade
A usually adventurous action that runs counter to approved or conventional conduct; any carefree episode.
ravage
To damage or harm something or someone very badly; a destructive action or effect.
empirical
Relying on experience or observation usually without regard for a system and theory; based on observation or experience.

Loud and confused and empty talk; flattery intended to persuade.

To put in prison; to subject to confinement.

Barely or scarcely enough; lacking in size or quantity.

A journey by a large group to escape from a hostile environment; a mass departure.
abscond
To leave secretly and hide oneself.
prolific
Producing young or fruit in large numbers; highly inventive or productive.
maelstrom
A strong violent whirlpool dangerous to ships; a great confusion.
impound
To shut up in or as if in an enclosed place; take temporary possession by legal authority.
loquacious
Very talkative; full of trivial conversation.
whippersnapper
A small, unimportant, or overly confident person.
eulogize
To praise formally and eloquently.
resilient
Capable of withstanding shock without permanent deformation; tending to recover from misfortune.
calumny
The act of uttering false charges or misrepresentations maliciously calculated to harm another's reputation.
