1- The family gather in the family home

2- The baby’s name is revealed

Hijab

A veil that covers a woman’s hair and neck leaving her face out

Niqab

A veil that only leaves their eyes out

Burka

A veil that covers the whole body. Mesh screen for eyes

Throbe

Long, loose robe worn by men

Ramadan

1 month of fasting

Eid al-Fitr

• End of Ramadan

• Gives thanks to Allah

Eid al-Adha

• 2 months after Eid al-Fitr

• 4 days

• Recalls Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son
