Radical Equation
An equation in which a variable is contained within a square root or other root.
Extraneous Solution
A solution that is derived from the process of solving an equation but does not satisfy the original equation.
Square Root
A value that, when multiplied by itself, gives the original number.
Bidomial
An algebraic expression that contains two terms.
NSOLVE
A numerical approach used to find approximate solutions of equations.
Complete the squares method
A technique used to solve quadratic equations by rewriting the equation in the form $(x - p)^2 = q$.
Graphing to Obtain Roots
A method of finding solutions to an equation by plotting it on a graph and identifying the points where it intersects the x-axis.
Reverse Operations
A mathematical strategy used to isolate a variable by performing the inverse of the operations applied to that variable.
Moderate Radical Practice
Solving radical equations where the square root is equal to a variable.
Advanced Radical Practice
Solving radical equations where the square root is equal to a binomial.
