Race
Race is a physical marker, the phenotypical differentiation between people. Race
typically refers to differences in skin color and physical features. Racial differences can include
facial features, height, and hair type.
Minority Group
A group of people distinguished by physical or cultural characteristics subjected to different or unequal treatment by the society in which they live and who regard themselves as victims in collective consciousness.
Assimilation
The adoption by a person or group of the culture of another social group to the complete extent that the person or group no longer has any characteristics identifying him with his former culture and no longer has any particular loyalties to his former culture, or the process leading to this adoption.
Acculturation
The changing of cultural patterns in order to fit into new society
Systemic Racism
Racial Discrimination based off of enduring patterns of thought and action.
